A frequent request when speaking to business customers and conducting surveys was their need to be able to add team members as additional users on their account.
They also wanted the ability to grant people access, but not be able to transact. For example, an Account needing to access their statements.
Only one email address could access a business account. For the majority of businesses this resulted in account holders having to share their login details with other staff members.
How to handle the on-boarding of sub-users had its challenges, mainly finding a way in which we could handle a security concerns about the wrong person getting an invite to join an account.
We researched a range of platforms from banks to social networks to see how they managed this concern. We also spoke to some of our customers to understand their level of security satisfaction with the different approaches.
The outcome was a unique code the account holder would have to share with the sub-user outside of our platform that would be asked when the sub-user created their account.. This was a nice balance between security considerations and user workload.
User management has been released and received a positive response. Thanks to our customer research we were confident this would be the case.
This release has also laid the foundation for another feature soon to be released which will enable business accounts to set up dual approval when funds are transferred out of the account.
